ENMR Nordic Mining Forum Spin-off Project History

The first spin-off project from the European Network of Mining Regions to be realised is the Nordic Mining Forum seminar held by the Association of Mining Analysts in London, England, February 23, 2006. 

The seminar was inspired by Patrik Roos of Georange and the project moved to realisation through the work of  Markku Iljina of the Finnish Geological Survey.  Euromines’ Corina Hebestreit then took the lead role in organizing the Nordic Mining Forum with the Association of Mining Analyst.

Seminar Programme

During the seminar, speakers presented specialist views on mining in Northern Europe, covering the following topics:

• Investment in Europe:
  • Economic, Geopolitics & Structure
  • Exploration potential
  • Exploration expenditure levels
  • Corporate presence in the region
  • Current development projects
  • Forecast discovery success rate
  • Risk, security and infrastructure assessments
  • Commodity spread in the region etc.

Presentations were also be made by regional companies regarding development project investment opportunties.  Company presenters include:
